The "Java Powered for the Enterprise" branding program will not be available for AVK 5 and later versions. Earlier versions of AVK (AVK 1.4 and above) can still be branded "Java Powered for the Enterprise" until further notice.

The Java Powered for the Enterprise logo and trademark serve as a key market differentiator for enterprise developers by delivering instant cross-platform credibility to enterprise buyers and an added measure that the developer of this application is actively seeking to provide support for multiple J2EE compatible application servers. An enterprise application that is Java Powered for the Enterprise signifies to enterprise buyers that the application is portable across all J2EE compatible technology platforms and has met the Write Once, Run Anywhere value that customers are looking for when selecting solutions. Furthermore, the brand is now available for FREE to application developers.

Java Powered for the Enterprise branded applications will be listed on the java.sun.com web site.

Program Requirements

Developers who have successfully tested their applications using the Java AVK for the Enterprise may apply to join the Java Powered for the Enterprise Program and obtain the right to use the Java Powered for the Enterprise trademark and logo in their application promotions relating to their tested application.

Developers will be required to complete the following tasks:

  • Successfully test their application following the procedures detailed in the Java AVK for the Enterprise User's Guide.
  • Apply to join the program. Send an email to verification-sales@sun.com to receive the Program Checklist and Program Manual.
  • Send the completed Checklist to our Program Office. Upon approval, you will receive the Sun Trademark License agreement.
  • Execute the Sun Trademark License for the Java Powered for the Enterprise Trademark and Logo
  • Receive the trademark logo and use the logo according to the logo usage guidelines.
