JAVA CARD SPECIFICATION

Java Card technology is the leading open, interoperable platform for smart cards and secure tokens. The Java Card Specifications provide the basis for cross-platform and cross-vendor applet interoperability. Java Card Specification 3.0.4 is backward compatible with Java Card Classic Specification 2.2.x.

The two distinct editions of the Java Card Platform specification correspond to different smart card platforms:

Java Card Classic Specification 3.0.4 is a continuation of the Java Card 3.0.1, Classic Edition, specification, and the Java Card 2.2.x family of specifications, suitable for the same family of smart cards.
Java Card Connected Specification 3.0.1 is an enhanced platform, including a significantly enhanced execution environment, a new virtual machine, and new network-oriented features, targeting high-end smart cards.

JAVA CARD SECURITY DOCUMENTS DOWNLOADS

The Java Card Protection Profile, Version 2.6, is aligned with the Java Card specifications versions 2.2.x and 3.0.1. This version of the Protection Profile has been certified by ANSSI (the French certification body) to a certification level of Common Criteria EAL4+ and can be used to reach certification levels of EAL4+ and above for Java Card products. This version of the Protection Profile relies on Common Criteria version 3.1, revision 3.
