You convert Esscmd scripts to MaxL through an Essbase utility called cmd2mxl. The cmd2mxl command structure shows a single input and two output files.
Examine Esscmd script c:\stats.txt. This is the input script you will be converting to MaxL.
Open a cmd window by clicking Start > Run. Then type cmd in the Run window and click OK.
In the cmd window, type the command to convert the Esscmd script stats.txt to MaxL script stats.mxl and write the conversion log to stats2log.txt. Then press Enter. (No messages are displayed in the cmd window.)
Exit the cmd window and examine c:\stats.mxl in a text editor, such as Notepad.
Open c:\stats2log.txt in a text editor and check for errors. Here is a portion of the log file. All Esscmd commands were converted to MaxL successfully.
