How This API Document Is Organized

This API (Application Programming Interface) document has pages corresponding to the items in the navigation bar, described as follows.

Overview

The Overview page is the front page of this API document and it provides a list of all the PL/SQL API packages with a summary for each. This page may also contain an overall description of the packages.

Package

Each Package page contains an overview of the package and this is followed by a series of summary tables summarizing the package content in these categories:

Each summary entry contains the first sentence from a detailed description for that item. The summary entries are alphabetical.

Each exception, type, constant, variable, function and procedure in these categories has its own detailed description in the same page:

Object Type

Each Object Type page contains an overview of the object type and this is followed by a series of tables summarizing the object type's definition in these categories:

Deprecated API

The Deprecated API page lists all of the API that have been deprecated. A deprecated API is not recommended for use, generally due to improvements, and a replacement API is usually given. Deprecated APIs may be removed in future implementations.

The Index page contains an alphabetic list of all API packages, object types, attributes, functions, procedures, types, constants, variables, exceptions.
