This tutorial covers how to provision offline users and enable data forms for offline use in Planning.
The Offline Planning feature enables planners to work in a disconnected mode within a familiar Excel environment while using many of the features supported by Planning in Smart View.
As Administrator, you need to provision users and groups to access Offline Planning data forms. After assigning the Offline User role, you select data forms you need to enable for offline access.
Before starting this tutorial, you should:
| 1. | Have Administrator and Provisioning Manager rights to Planning applications. |
| 2. | Have access to Shared Services User Management Console. |
| 3. | Have access to Workspace and Planning. |
User Management Console is the centralized user interface for provisioning users and groups for Oracle's Hyperion applications. In this topic, you add the Offline User role to a user.
To add the offline user role to a user:
1. | Launch Workspace and log on as Administrator.

2. | In the view pane, expand User Directories > <Directory> > Users, and click Show All.
|
| 3. | Right-click a user and select Provision.
|
| 4. | In the Available Roles area, navigate to the Planning application and its available roles.
|
| 5. | Select Offline User, and click Add
|
| 6. | Click Save.
|
| 7. | Review the Provision Summary page, and click OK.

In this topic, you enable offline use for Planning data forms.
To enable data forms for offline use:
| 1. | In Planning, select Administration > Manage Data Forms.
|
| 2. | In the Data Forms Folders area, expand Forms and select a folder. From the content area, select a data form and click Edit.
|
