In this module, you learn about the page management enhancements in WebCenter Portal: Framework and WebCenter Portal: Spaces. You learn about page hierarchy and the advantages of the cascading security model it provides. You also learn about managing page styles, pages, and page hierarchies at run time. Installing and Configuring Enterprise Content Management for Oracle WebCenter Portal: Spaces - Oracle’s Enterprise Content Management Suite (ECM) provides essential services in any WebCenter instance. However installing and especially configuring ECM is not well integrated into the WebCenter installation process. Seamless cooperation between Content Server and WebCenter applications, including Spaces, requires several manual configuration and testing steps. This tutorial guides you through the steps required to install and configure ECM in a distributed WebCenter environment for development purposes.
Creating and Using Page Templates in Oracle WebCenter Portal Applications - In a WebCenter Portal application, page templates provide a means for creating the application’s pages with a common look. Each page of an application is stamped out from a page template, which provides common elements for the page. The individual pages can add their specific content, extending the page template. In this training module, you learn how to create and use page templates in both WebCenter Portal applications and in WebCenter Portal: Spaces. Oracle WebCenter Portal: Moving Custom Portal Content Between Content Servers - Oracle WebCenter Portal applications are tightly integrated with Oracle WebCenter Content, where the application’s documents, images, and other files are stored. This content is displayed on the application’s pages using content integration task flows. In this tutorial, you learn how to export the application’s content from one WebCenter Content Server and import it into another server, preserving information that is needed by the application.
Integrating Content - Oracle WebCenter Portal includes a complete enterprise content management infrastructure, Oracle WebCenter Content, which provides a single repository for all structured and unstructured content and allows you to capture and manage the entire content lifecycle. In this module, you learn about the content management enhancements in WebCenter Portal 11g R1 (11.1.1.4). You learn about the new Documents service task flow, Document Explorer. Users need a way to easily move through the information and quickly access the specific information they need. You provide this access through your portal navigation. WebCenter Portal lets you define and manage navigation at design time and at run time. In this training module, you learn how to create and manage navigation at run time. You learn how to define the navigation model and render it in your portal. Defining Navigation at Design Time - In this training module, you learn how to create and manage navigation at design time using JDeveloper. You learn about the navigation model and portal navigation security. Once you've defined the navigation model, you learn how to expose it on any page template by using a prebuilt task flow or a custom implementation. You also learn some best practices for portal navigation models. In addition to the presentation, this training module includes a hands-on exercise that helps further your understanding of portal navigation. Creating and Using Templates for the Content Presenter Task Flow - Integrating content stored in Oracle WebCenter Content Server is one of the most often used services in an Oracle WebCenter Portal application. Similar to most of the other services, WebCenter Portal provides dedicated task flows to access WebCenter Content. In this training module you use the Content Presenter task flow, which allows authorized users to retrieve content from WebCenter Content and display the content in a WebCenter Portal application using a display template. In addition to a set of predefined Content Presenter templates that ships with WebCenter Portal, you can create your own templates to suit the way you want to present your documents. In this training module, you learn how to create, package, and use Content Presenter templates. Working with Social Networking Services in Oracle WebCenter Portal - This module will familiarize you with changes to social services in Release 11.1.1.4. It provides brief service overviews, coverage of changes and new features, and demonstrations of how to use changed and newly introduced user interfaces. Creating and Consuming Pagelets - Oracle WebCenter Portal's Pagelet Producer (previously known as Oracle WebCenter Ensemble) provides a collection of tools that facilitate dynamic pagelet development, and allow users to add portlets as UI widgets or gadgets to any page on any platform, integrate external content into any portal, and enable mashups from just about any source. In this module, you learn why pagelets are important and how to build and deploy custom pagelets in your own applications. |
