Oracle Social Network Add-In for Outlook®

Oracle Social Network Add-In for Outlook® is available for Microsoft® Outlook® 2007, 2010, and 2013. The add-in provides access to Oracle Social Network contacts, Conversations, Social Objects, documents, flags, and favorites directly within Outlook®.


Installation Directions
To install the Oracle Social Network Add-In for Outlook®
  • Download and run the installer for the Oracle Social Network Add-In for Outlook®.
  • The installer auto-detects your current version and installs the correct update for Oracle Social Network Add-In for Outlook®.
  • Microsoft® Outlook® must be closed for installation to proceed.
Configuration Instructions
To configure the Oracle Social Network Add-In for Outlook®
  • Start Microsoft® Outlook®.
  • The Oracle Social Network Add-In for Outlook® is installed as a panel on the right side of your Outlook® instance.
  • When connecting to Oracle Social Network for the first time, you will be prompted to enter the configuration information for your service:
    • Account: Specify a name for your account. For example, you can name it "Oracle Social Network".
    • Username/Password: Enter your user name and password.
    • Server: Enter the URL for the Oracle Social Network service. For example, if your Oracle Social Network URL is acme.social.us1.oraclecloud.com/osn then your Add-in for Outlook URL will be acme.social.us1.oraclecloud.com/client.


 
Oracle Social Network Desktop Client for Windows®

The Oracle Social Network Desktop provides access to Oracle Social Network notifications, contacts, Conversations, Social Objects, and flags directly from your Windows® desktop. Oracle Social Network Desktop Client is available for both Microsoft® Windows® 7 and 8.


Installation Directions
To install the Oracle Social Network Desktop Client for Windows®
  • Download and run the installer for the Oracle Social Network Desktop Client for Windows®.
  • The installer will install the Oracle Social Network Desktop. If the Oracle Social Network was already installed, the installer will auto-detect your current version and install the correct update.
  • The Oracle Social Network Desktop must be closed for installations and upgrades to proceed.

To configure the Oracle Social Network Desktop Client for Windows®
  • Start Oracle Social Network Desktop.

The Oracle Social Network Desktop provides access to Oracle Social Network notifications, contacts, Conversations, Social Objects, and flags directly from your Mac® desktop. Oracle Social Network Desktop Client is available for Apple®OS X® 10.7, 10.8, and 10.9.


Installation Directions
To install the Oracle Social Network Desktop Client for Mac®
  • Download and open the disk image (.dmg) file for the Oracle Social Network Desktop.
  • Click on the Oracle Social Network application and drag it to the Applications folder.
  • The installer will install the Oracle Social Network Desktop. If the Oracle Social Network was already installed, the installer will auto-detect your current version and install the correct update.
  • The Oracle Social Network Desktop must be closed for installations and upgrades to proceed.

  • Start Oracle Social Network Desktop.
