Bare Metal Provisioning application in Oracle Enterprise Manager automates the deployment of Linux operating system and Oracle VM server software. The application uses standard PXE booting process and kickstart mechanism to boot new hardware machines and install the operating system. In case of Linux operating system provisioning, the application also automatically installs the Oracle Enterprise Manager Agent after the Linux install completes. In case of provisioning Oracle VM servers, the bare metal provisioning process automates the installation of Oracle VM server software. Users can then go to the Oracle Enterprise Manager console to register the newly provisioned Oracle VM servers to start managing them using Oracle Enterprise Manager.

The bare metal provisioning application provides out-of-box support to provision 32-bit and 64-bit variants of the following operating systems:

Download the Oracle Enterprise Manager Agent Kit below. This kit can be used to deploy the Management Agent either as part of the Bare Metal Provisioning process for Linux operating systems or separately on top of an existing Linux installation. On how to use this Agent kit as part of the Bare Metal Provisioning application, refer to the Oracle Enterprise Manager Administrator's Guide for Software and Server Provisioning and Patching
 
Depending upon the servers to be provisioned, download the suitable 32-bit or 64-bit Agent RPM kit. It is recommended to use the latest versions of Agent RPM kit.

Download the latest out-of-box scripts available here for use with Bare Metal Provisioning application in EM 10.2.0.4. Directives for EM 10.2.0.5 are included in the product and don't need to be separately downloaded. Advanced users can customize the Bare Metal Provisiong process by altering out-of-box directives and using them in the Bare Metal Provisioning application.
