Oracle Applications Compatibility

All Oracle Applications customers must refer to MOS note 124721.1: "Migrating an Applications Installation to a New Character Set". This document describes and explains the supported path to upgrade/migrate an existing Applications installation to UTF8.

Database Compatibility

The character set scanner is certified with any Oracle database on any platform running under the same release except you cannot mix ASCII and EBCDIC based platforms. For example, a 9.2.0 version of the Scanner on any ASCII based platform is certified to run with any 9.2.0 database on any ASCII based platform. It is recommended that you run the character set scanner in the same Oracle Home as the database when possible.

Character Set Scanner Downloads

The Character Set Scanner for Oracle10g and newer database releases is delivered as a component of the database software. Similarly, patches for those Character Set Scanner versions are available on My Oracle Support under the Oracle Database Family.
