2 Target Discovery
This chapter describes the different types of Oracle Rdb-related targets and how to instruct the Oracle Enterprise Manager to discover them.

2.1 Adding an Oracle Rdb Database Entity Target
An Oracle Rdb Database entity target may be added into the Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g management framework by using the Add function located under the Monitored Targets section on the home web page of the appropriate EMAgent.

By selecting the "Oracle Rdb Database" option in the popup menu list and clicking on

Add Oracle Rdb Database web page is displayed. After entering all the required information, click on
to add the new entity target.

The following information is required when adding an Oracle Rdb Database entity target:

2.2 Adding an Oracle Rdb Monitor Entity Target
An Oracle Rdb Monitor entity target may be added into the Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g management framework by using the Add function located under the Monitored Targets section on the home web page of the appropriate EMAgent.
By selecting the "Oracle Rdb Monitor" option in the popup menu list and clicking on
