This chapter describes how to provide information to the Enterprise Manager 10g EMAgent about the Rdb entity targets to monitor.
The following topics are discussed in this chapter:
Section 3.4, "Oracle Rdb SQL/Services Server Entity Information"
Section 3.5, "Oracle Rdb SQL/Services Dispatcher Entity Information"
Section 3.6, "Oracle Rdb SQL/Services Service Entity Information"
The EMAgent must be manually informed of the Oracle Rdb entity targets that you wish to monitor.
At startup time, the EMAgent uses the contents of the
ORA_ROOT:[<nodename>.sysman.emd]targets.xml file to determine the targets on the host to monitor. Although the
targets.xml is an editable XML file, the method to add, modify, and remove targets from the Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g management framework is by using the Grid Control web-based interface.
When using the Grid Control web-based interface, entity targets of any known type on a particular node may be added, modified, and removed via links on the home page of EMAgent for that particular node.
