What's New


New features and enhancements in Oracle Solaris Studio 12.4 Beta include:

  • C++2011 language standard support in Compiler and dbx Debugger
  • Completely redesigned Performance Analyzer UI that makes it even easier to identify key performance issues, plus remote data analysis, cross-architecture support, comparison of results, and improved kernel profiling.
  • Updated Code Analyzer improves application reliability with static source-code checking, run-time memory access/memory leak checking, and identification of un-exercised code. Efficiently review results and historical analysis of data with both graphical and command-line interfaces.
  • Compiler and library optimizations for Oracle’s SPARC T5, M5, M6, Fujitsu’s M10, and Intel’s Ivy Bridge and Haswell systems.
  • OpenMP 4.0 support, including Region Cancellation, Thread Affinity, Tasking Extensions and Sequentially Consistent Atomics.
  • Updated Oracle Solaris Studio IDE with C++2011 support, faster response time, and reduced memory footprint to efficiently handle the largest enterprise applications.
