Introduction

Sun Storage 7000 Series Unified Storage System has comprehensive data protection features that can provide instant snapshots, cloning, rollback, and remote replication. These features can make database protection and maintenance tasks easier for systems and database administrators.

This document shows how to perform backup and recovery operations for Oracle databases using the snapshot, clone, and rollback features on the Sun Storage 7000 Unified Storage System.

Note: Due to the fact that the products in the Sun Storage 7000 Unified Storage System family provide the same web-based GUI, this document applies to the family of products. The release used here was 2008.Q4.
