Systems Management

Oracle Enterprise Manager Ops Center is Oracle's single, integrated solution for managing all aspects of the data center. It enables you to discover, provision, update, manage, and monitor the physical and virtual assets in one or more of your data centers from a single console. The remote management capabilities are designed to help increase availability and utilization and minimize downtime. Oracle Enterprise Manager Ops Center is available for download along with online documentation.

Sun Management Center 4.0 is supported on the SPARC T3-1B. The Common Config Reader Add-on is required.

The latest version of this Add-On can be downloaded from the Oracle Technology Network Patching Center Systems Management page.

An SNMP Agent is also available for this server. The latest version of SNMP can be downloaded from the Oracle Technology Network Patching Center SNMP page.

Information about Sun SNMP releases are available here and in the Sun SNMP Management Agent Documentation.

Oracle ILOM is an embedded service processor that is accessible any time the server is plugged in, even when the server is powered off. It provides advanced fault management and actively monitors the health of the server. Other features include power control, a virtual video console, and storage redirection. ILOM can be managed using a command-line interface over SSH, a web interface, SNMP, or IPMI. ILOM is preinstalled in each system at the factory and the documentation can be found here.

Oracle Hardware Management Pack is a collection of command line tools for configuring logical disk volumes, updating the firmware on the server, and configuring Oracle ILOM. The Hardware Management Pack also includes an SNMP agent for monitoring the health of the server including disk and controller status. The pack can be downloaded from here, and the documentation can be found here.

Oracle VM Server for SPARC (formerly LDoms) virtualization technology is available for the SPARC T3-1B.

The latest version of Oracle VM Server for SPARC along with release notes and detailed documentation and installation information can be downloaded from the Oracle VM Server for SPARC download page.

Diagnostics & Serviceability

Electronic Prognostics 1.2 is available for the SPARC T3-1B. Electronic Prognostics analyzes time series telemetry data collected from a variety of physical and logical sensors on the system, such as temperatures, voltages, currents and fan speeds. It improves upon the false/missed alarm rates seen with fixed-threshold monitoring techniques and detects subtle degradation modes of system components that otherwise cannot be caught.
