You have the following download and installation options:
 
Option 1:
For systems running the Solaris OS and for Linux systems that support RPM package format. This option installs Oracle Solaris Studio Express 6/10 software as Solaris or Linux packages in GUI or non-GUI mode.
 
 
Option 2:
 
For users who do not have root privileges. This option extracts the installed version of Oracle Solaris Studio Express 6/10 software from a tarfile without using Solaris or Linux packages. You do not need root access to your system to use this option. However, Oracle support is not available for this configuration nor can the software be updated with patches.
