Modernization Effort: Migration of CA GEN on z/OS CICS DB2 to Linux/WebLogic/Oracle

Summary: Chicago Mercantile Exchange moved their settlement, banking and asset system off CA GEN z/OS CICS/DB2 platform to a modern open environment, to significantly reduce operational costs and improve application development agility. The project delivered this migration on-time and on-budget and allowed Chicago Mercantile to realize their project objectives. The project was managed and delivered by our team of migration experts located in USA. The converted application matches the functionality of the original exactly, is maintainable by the existing Chicago Mercantile developers, and dramatically improves the performance of the application it replaced.

Customer: STI Transportation

Modernization Effort: Migration of Natural ADABAS Cobol to Java and Oracle Database

Summary:
STI is a leading transportation and logistics company with dedicated facilities, drivers, and specialized equipment focused solely on environmentally conscious, high-touch, high-value transportation, on-site services, storage, and handling services. STI modernized two of their systems from a legacy ADABAS/Natural/COBOL based architecture to a lower cost and more maintainable architecture. This enabled them to eliminate the usage of their mainframe and move to a new open platform for their legacy systems.

Customer: Desjardins

Modernization Effort: Migration of IDMS based z/OS application portfolio to Oracle/Unix and Windows .NET

Summary: Desjardins Group is the leading cooperative financial group in Canada and the sixth largest in the world, with assets of over $175 billion. BluePhoenix migrated Desjardin’s mission critical applications, which included several thousand COBOL programs and ADSO dialogs as well as hundreds of JCL members, copybooks, maps, and schema files. The project was structured in two phases to increase its efficiency and provide a cost-effective solution in a timely manner.

Modernization Effort: Migration of mainframe Cobol and JCL to Java

Summary: BluePhoenix worked with CSC, along with Sun/Oracle, to migrate a large COBOL based insurance software package (CSC’s ExceedJ commercial off-the-shelf application) from a mainframe Cobol platform to a Java platform. CSC’s Financial Services Group was very happy with the delivered product, and the BluePhoenix project team.
