Welcome to the Oracle Modernization Alliance!
IT organizations today want to reduce total cost of ownership, increase their ability to react to business demand, and minimize reliance on legacy skill sets while insuring that they are meeting new compliance demands. But for legacy applications of any size, this cannot be achieved just by starting over. There is too much invested in current systems just to leave it all behind and for many organizations the risk of replacing everything all at once is just too great to consider. As a result, IT organizations are looking to IT modernization to move to modern technologies while preserving the existing business content of current applications—applications that have served them well for many years but have become too costly and too rigid for today's rapidly changing business environments.
The Oracle Modernization Alliance (OMA) brings together vendors with the best products, processes, solutions, and architectures for IT Modernization to open systems—providing a one-stop shop for organizations that are looking for ways to take advantage of new technology while still preserving the business content of their existing applications.
Since IT Modernization involves many different technologies and approaches, the OMA categorizes its members into a number of areas based on the type of vendor solution as well as the type of offering. At the highest level, this consists of three main areas based on their core offering: System Integrators, Modernization Vendors and Modernization Technology Providers.
Systems Integrators
System Integrators are those organizations that typically prime modernization projects and provide the customer-facing services such as project management.
Specialty Modernization Partners
Specialty Modernization Partners are those organizations that perform specific modernizations and migrations such as specific language or database translations.
Modernization Technology Providers
Technology Providers are those organizations that can be used in combination with Oracle Fusion Middleware, Oracle Database and Oracle Applications to provide a complete modernization target environment that provides both high quality of service and legacy replacement capabilities for all types of modernization.
