County of Marin
The County of Marin was performing a re-hosting of their property tax system – TAPIS, in order to lower their cost, web enable their applications, create a rapid development environment and increase systems agility.
The TAPIS applications is the main revenue producing application for the County, with an estimated $48B of appraised properties and over $630M dollars in County revenue.
The County required an automated conversion to COBOL, then a re-hosting to a distributed platform. The new platform utilizes Micro Focus Enterprise Server with the Mainframe Transaction Option that supports CICS, JCL, flat files and VSAM.
