An end user can gain access to unintended resources.
A problem was identified that could potentially cause a security vulnerability in certain versions of WebLogic Portal. A patch is available to correct this problem (see Section II). Oracle treats potential security problems with a high degree of urgency and endeavors to take appropriate steps to help ensure the security of our customers' systems. As a result, Oracle strongly suggests the following actions:

Any sites that use roles and entitlements to manage WLP resources are susceptible to this vulnerability. If an administrative user deletes entitlements for a given role other roles entitlements are inadvertently affected.
This patch resolves the issue by enforcing proper access restrictions.
The following versions of WebLogic Portal are affected by this vulnerability
WebLogic Portal 9.2 on all platforms.

Oracle strongly recommends the following course of actions.
WebLogic Portal version 9.2
- Use the Smart Update tool to install the patch for CR284907.
WebLogic Portal 9.2 Maintenance Pack 1 will include the functionality in this patch.
