An attacker can retrieve files from a web application in violation of access restrictions.
A user may gain access to application resources.
A problem was identified that could potentially cause a security vulnerability in WebLogic Mobility Server. A patch is available to correct this problem (see Section II). Oracle treats potential security problems with a high degree of urgency and endeavors to take appropriate steps to help ensure the security of our customers’ systems. As a result, Oracle strongly suggests the following actions:

Any sites that have deployed the Image Converter functionality of WebLogic Mobility Server are susceptible to this vulnerability. This functionality is enabled by default in WebLogic Mobility Server applications created with BEA WebLogic Workshop (WebLogic Portal 8.1.x) and BEA Workshop for WebLogic Platform (WebLogic Portal 9.x / 10.x).
This advisory resolves the issue by allowing the administrator to restrict access to only designated web resources.

The following versions of WebLogic Mobility Server are affected by this vulnerability
- WebLogic Mobility Server 3.3 on all platforms.
- WebLogic Mobility Server 3.5 on all platforms.
- WebLogic Mobility Server 3.6 released through Service Pack 1, on all platforms.
II. SUGGESTED ACTION
Oracle strongly recommends the following course of actions.
WebLogic Mobility Server (All versions)
- Login to your portal using an account with admin privilege.
- Download and apply the Image Converter patch #7825109 from OracleMetaLink as per the instructions below:
• Select the Patches and Updates tab after logging in to OracleMetaLink.
• Click Simple Search.
• In the Search By field, select Patch Number from the list.
• Enter the patch number. The patch number may be different for different product releases and platforms.
• Select the platform (or choose generic as applicable)
• Click Go.
• Click Download to download the patch.
Future releases of WebLogic Mobility Server will include the functionality of this patch.
