Registration

When creating a profile, I get an error message stating that I have not selected all the required fields. What's the problem?
You are probably getting this message because of the second question in the "Member Profile" section, "What is your primary job role?" You need to select a field that starts with "..." (three dots). Other selections are categories and will result in the registration error message.

Why don't I see the whole registration form or a "Submit" button?
We suggest changing your browser security to "medium-low." We also recommend trying an alternate browser.

Login Issues

I have login/password problems or want to change my password. What do I do?
Please see the Login Problems FAQ for all password and login issues.

Software Downloads

How can I ensure the stability of the software download process?
Please try the following suggestions:

  • If you are having trouble connecting or completing a download, please try one of the following download managers:
    • GetRight allows you to easily download files and recover (resume downloading) if errors occur and has many other advanced features.
  • Make sure you are using a recent browser version: at least 7.x of Netscape, 5.x of Internet Explorer, or 1.6 of Mozilla. Note that Firefox is not currently supported.
  • If downloading through a firewall or proxy server, contact your system administrator to make sure downloads are allowed through the firewall and that your system is configured properly to allow downloads.
  •  If using a dial-up modem and ISP, contact your ISP's technical support group and explain the problem. Ask for assistance on their end.
  • Wait, then try it again! Intermittent problems are common on the Internet for a variety of reasons. You may have better luck if you close your browser completely, wait a while, restart your browser, then try again from the beginning.
  • Try using a different browser.
  • Try downloading during off-peak hours.

Can I download software using FTP?
No. OTN downloads are available only via HTTP protocol.

TechBlast

I am receiving multiple copies of TechBlast. What do I do?
Go to the bottom of the duplicate TechBlast Newsletter, click on the appropriate link, and follow the instructions to be removed from the master TechBlast mailing list (see below also).

I signed up for TechBlast but am not receiving it.
In your Account Profile, make sure that "Oracle Technology Network" box under "My Community Memberships" is checked.

How can I remove myself from your TechBlast mailing list?
Do the opposite: Login to your account and uncheck the "Oracle Technology Network" box under "My Community Memberships."

Other Issues

How do I upgrade from a developer license to a full-use license?
When you are ready to deploy your application, you must purchase a full-use license for the Oracle products that you used to build your application or any Oracle product that you embedded in your application. To resell Oracle with your application, join the Oracle PartnerNetwork. In the United States, full-use licenses may be purchased online at the Oracle Store, or through Oracle Sales at (800) 542-1170. If you are outside the U.S., please contact your local sales office.

Why are some of the elements on my screen blank, or when I click on buttons and enter text into the forms nothing seems to happen?
The Oracle Technology Network web site requires the use of Java- and Javascript-enabled browsers. Please make sure you have Java and JavaScript enabled when browsing this website. If you are not running a browser that supports these two technologies, we encourage you to visit either the Netscape, Mozilla, or Microsoft web site and download their free browser.

I have a question that is not answered here. Is there a "customer service" email address?
No. Please post your question in the Member Feedback Discussion Forum, which is monitored frequently.
