Installing Oracle Label Security
The goal of this tutorial is to show you how to add Oracle
Label Security in your existing Oracle 10g Database.
Approximately 30 minutes

Using the Oracle Universal Installer, you install the Oracle
Label Security option.

Before starting this tutorial, you should have:

To install Oracle Label security, you must use the Oracle
Universal Installer

Log in to the Linux box as user oracle
and mount the Oracle Database 10g CD. Change directory to the CD
and execute the script /mnt/cdrom/runInstaller
from your home directory:
/mnt/cdrom/runInstaller
At the Welcome window, click Next.

At the Specify File Locations window, make sure the
Oracle Home and path are set to the current Oracle Database 10g location.
Then click Next.

Make sure the Installation Type Custom is selected
and click Next.

| 4. |
The installation verifies that your system has the minimum
requirements. When done, click Next.

Expand Oracle Database 10g, then Enterprise
Edition Options. Click the checkbox next to Oracle Label Security
and click Next.

Review your choices, click Install.

| 7. |
The progress window appears.

| 8. |
The End of Installation summary appears. Click Exit,
then click Yes.

In order for the database to contain the appropriate packages
for Oracle Label Security, you must run the Database Configuration Assistant
to add
the option to your existing database. Perform the following:

From a terminal window, enter the following command
and user oracle:
dbca

Select Configure database options in a database
and click Next.

| 3. |
Select your ORCL database and click Next.

|
| 4. |
Select Oracle Label Security and click Next.

|
| 5. |
Select Dedicated Server Mode and then click Next.

|
| 6. |
Click OK.

| 7. |
Click OK.

| 8. |
You can view the progress of the Database Configuration
Assistant.

When complete, click No to end the Database Configuration
Assistant.

To install Oracle Policy Manager, you must use the Oracle
Universal Installer.

Log in to the Linux box as user oracle

/mnt/cdrom/runInstaller
At the Welcome window, click Next.

is selected and click Next.
