Oracle by Example Series: Oracle Application Server 10g

Oracle Portal

Oracle Portal is a complete solution for building, deploying, and maintaining self-service, integrated portals. Using Oracle Portal, you can organize and integrate new and existing Web applications and sites from the intranet and extranet consistently. Oracle Portal incorporates a portal creation and deployment framework that defines Web information sources as information components, assembles these components within a page, and supports their customization by individual users or groups of users. In addition, you can incorporate Web Services and J2EE-based components like Java Server Pages (JSPs), Java Servlets, and Enterprise JavaBeans (EJBs) into the portal as portlets without writing additional code.

In this section of the Oracle by Example series, you will learn how to use Oracle Portal to build an enterprise portal.
