An Oracle Files domain is created during the Oracle Collaboration
Suite Mid Tier installation process. An Oralce Files domain has one Subscriber.
An Oracle Files Subscriber is used to contain the users for a specific organization.
You need to create a Subscriber before you can create users in Oracle Files.
Each Subscriber has a Subscriber administrator. Once a Subscriber is created,
you then specify synchronization frequency of Oracle Files and Oracle Internet
Directory. Oracle Files will then automatically synchronize its user list with
Oracle Internenet Directory and create or delete Oracle Files users as appropriate.
To create the Oracle Files Subscriber, perform the following:
1.
Open a browser and enter the following URL:
http://<hostname>:7778/files/app/AdminLogin
Login as site_admin/<your password> and
click Login.
2.
Click New Subscriber.
3.
Enter a Subscriber name, select Yes for Account
Enabled and click Next.
4.
At a minimum, you must specify the Subscriber quota,
the maximum number of users, and the expiration date. Click
Next.
5.
At a minimum, you must specify the Subscriber administrator,
the email address of the Subscriber administrator, the number
of daysof inactivity after which a user is deactivated, the
default space quota per user, and the default space quota per
workspace.
6.
Review the Subscriber information and click Finish.
7.
The Subscriber was created.
Synchronizing Oracle
Files and Oracle Internet Directory
Perform the following to synchronize Oracle Internet Directory
and Oracle Files:
1.
Open a browser and enter the following URL:
http://<hostname>:1810
Login as ias_admin/<password> and click
Login.
2.
Select your Mid Tier Instance link.
3.
Click on the System Component iFS_<db hostname.domain>:<db
port>:<db service>:<files schema>
4.
Select Server Configurations.
5.
Select the FilesOidUserSynchronizationAgentConfiguration
link.
6.
Scroll down and select the IFS.SERVER.TIMER.ActivationPeriod
and click Edit.
7.
The default provisioning time period is 15 minutes.
To speed up the provisioning timeframe, enter a value of 3m and
click OK. Note: Although Oracle Files users will be automatically
provisioned when they logon for the first time, provisioning them before
their first logon attempt will minimize performance degradation.
8.
Click OK again.
9.
Select the Breadcrumb iFS_<db hostname.domain>:<db
port>:<db service>:<files schema> link.
10.
Select the <hostname.domain> Node link.
11.
Scroll down and select FilesOidUserSynchronizationAgent
and click Stop.
12.
Click Yes to stop the server.
13.
Click Load Service.
14.
Enter FilesOidUserSynchronization for the Server
Name and select FilesOidUserSynchronizationAgentConfiguration for
the Server Configuration and click OK.
15.
The server has been successfully loaded. Scroll down
and select FilesOidUserSynchronizationAgent and click Start.
16.
The server has been successfully started.
