The Oracle Collaboration Suite Information Storage component
is an Oracle9i release 2 (9.2) database tuned for Oracle Email and Oracle
Files. Because these applications create a schema, you must have a database
available before you can configure Oracle Email or Oracle Files.
Oracle Email and Oracle Voicemail &
Fax both use an Oracle Collaboration Suite email schema to store email,
voice mail, and faxes.
Oracle Files requires a database schema
to hold its files, directories, and metadata.
Other Storage
In addition to the infrastructure and information stores,
Oracle Collaboration Suite requires other data stores that are not referred
to as information storage or infrastructure.
Ultra Search must be installed in
a schema in a database with Oracle Text (can be the information store).
Web Conferencing must be installed
into an existing database (can be the information store).
Oracle Calendar uses its own data
store, which is optimized for scheduling. It does not store its data in
an Oracle database. The Oracle Calendar store is created on the same host
as the Oracle Calendar application.
To install the Oracle Collaboration Suite Information Store,
perform the following:
