Email Server

The email server is a middle tier application. This application performs the following functions:

Interfaces to the email client
Processes the email message
Tells the email store where to store the message

In order for this lesson to work successfully, you will need to have performed the following:

1.

Complete the Preinstallation Tasks lesson.
2.

Complete the Installing the Oracle Collaboration Suite Infrastructure lesson.
3.

Complete the Installing the Oracle Collaboration Suite Information Store lesson.
4.

Complete the Installing the Oracle Collaboration Suite Mid Tier lesson.
5.

Complete the Installing the Oracle Mail Store lesson.

Configuring the Oracle Mail Mid Tier

To configure the Oracle Mail Mid Tier, perform the following:

1.

At the commands prompt execute $ORACLE_HOME/oes/bin/umconfig.sh &

2.

Select Mid Tier Configuration and click Next.

3.

Select your SID from the list of Mail Store Global Database Names and click Next.

4.

Enter your domain name and then click Next.

5.

Click Yes to start the Process and click Next.

6.

At the Summary screen, click Next.

7.

The configuration assistant will run.

8.

Once the installation completes, click Exit.

Starting the Oracle Mail Listener

Perform the following to verify your Oracle Collaboration Suite Information Storage installation was successful:

1.

Login to your server as root.

 
2.

Modify your listener.ora file and change the POP protocol port from 110 to 112.

3.

From the $ORACLE_HOME/ocs_mid/bin directory run the following command:

su 
<root passowrd?>
id oracle
tnslsnr listener_es -u 500 -g 501 &
ps -ef | grp tns
