Managing your Materials

This lesson demonstrates how to manage your materials repository on Oracle Web Conferencing to store documents, bookmarks, messages, and polls.

This lesson will discuss the following:

Place the cursor on this icon to display all screenshots. You can also place the cursor on each icon to see only the screenshot associated with it.

You can manage the following resources in your personal materials repository on Oracle Web Conferencing using the Materials tab:

Documents
Bookmarks
Messages
Polls

 

For this lesson to work successfully, you will need your Oracle Collaboration Suite administrator to supply you with an Oracle Collaboration Suite user account.

Perform the following steps to login to the Oracle Collaboration Suite:

1.

Open your browser and enter the following URL:

http://<hostname>:7778/pls/portal/PORTAL.wwsec_app_priv.login

2.

Login as susie.parker/welcome1.

3.

Click Web Conferences.

You will be presenting a proposal to ABCCorp next week. To upload your documents for the presentation and make them available to the attendees during the conference, perform the following:

1.

Click the Materials tab.

In the Documents page, click Upload Documents.

3.

Type the Document Name as Customer Presentation.
Click Browse and select CustABCpresentation.ppt from your local system. Click Upload to save your settings.

During the presentation, you will need access to the OTN Web address. To create this URL as a Bookmark, perform the following:

1.

Click the Bookmarks subtab.

2.

Click Create Bookmarks.

3.

Type the following information:
Bookmark Name: OTN Link
URL: otn.oracle.com after http://

Click Create.

4.

You can use this bookmark to access the URL during the conference.

Next, you must create a phrase that you can access while using the chat feature during the conference. Creating this message in advance saves you the time of typing it when the conference is in progress. Perform the following steps to create messages:

1.

Click the Messages subtab.

Click Create Messages.

3.

In the Create Messages window, type:

Message Name: Welcome
Message: I welcome you all to this conference on e-Business

Click Create.

4.

Verify that the message has been saved successfully.

At the end of the conference, you plan to distribute a short questionnaire to the attendees. To create a poll, perform the following steps:

1.

Click Polls.

Click Create Poll.

3.

In the Create Poll window, type the following information:

Poll Name: Feedback
Question: Would you like to attend more presentations to discuss today's topic?
Response A: Yes
Response B: No

Click to deselect Response Type Allow attendees to select multiple responses.
Click to deselect Sender Participation Allow me to vote.

Click Create.

4.

Verify that the poll has been successfully created.
