Setting Up your Wireless and Voice Account

This lesson demonstrates how to setup an account so that wireless and voice can be used.

This lesson will discuss the following:

Before using any wireless and voice components, you must configure your information. These settings can be configured by clicking on the wireless and voice icon in the top-right corner of the window of the Oracle Collaboration Suite home page. The first time you access this area, you must set up your contact rules and communication devices.

In order for this lesson to work successfully, you will need your Oracle Collaboration Suite administrator to supply you with a Collaboration Suite user account.

To configure wireless and voice, you need to login to your Oracle Collaboration Suite portal page and perform the following:

1.

Open your browser and enter the following URL:

http://<hostname>:7778/pls/portal/PORTAL.wwsec_app_priv.login

2.

Login as susie.parker/welcome1 and then click Login.

3.

The Collaboration Suite Portal is displayed. Click Wireless & Voice.

In order to use wireless and voice, you need to define your account number and pin. Perform the following:

1.

Enter your mobile phone and work phone, and a pin of 1234567. Click Voicemails, Fax messages and Urgent messages. Then click Advanced.

Note: The mobile phone number you enter here will be your account number. This is used later in this lesson.

 

You often times work from home. As a result, you need to create a new contact rule so that Oracle Collaboration Suite knows how to reach you. Perform the following:

1.

Click Add to create a How to Reach Me contact rule.

2.

When you are at home, you want to receive SMS messages via your mobile phone. Enter At Home in the Contact Rule field, select My Mobile Phone in the SMS me at: field and by SMS in the The best way to reach me is: field. Then click Finish.

3.

Click Apply.

4.

Click Finish.

5.

At this point you can change your location from your Portal Page. Select At Home for the Contact Me field and click Change.

Before accessing the components using the Voice, you first need to login to each of the components using the wireless interface. Perform the following:

1.

From your browser, enter the URL for the Unified Messaging page:

http://<hostname>:7778/ptg/rm

2.

Click Login.

3.

Enter the mobile phone number (Account Number) and pin that you specified in your portal page previously. Then click Submit.

4.

Click Mail.

5.

Click Setup. Click Edit Identity.

6.

Enter Susie for the Display Name, and the e-mail address as susie.parker@oracledemos.com. Click Save. Click the Oracle icon to navigate back to the main menu.

7.

Click Calendar.

8.

Click Setup.

9.

Enter susie.parker for the username, welcome1 for the password and click Login.

10.

Your username and password have been saved. Click on the ORACLE logo to go back to the main menu.

11.

Click Online Files.

Click Setup.

13.

You can view the setup for Susie Parker. Click the susie.parker link.

14.

Enter susie.parker for the Account Alias, susie.parker for the username, and welcome1 for the password. Then click Save.

15.

Your username and password have been saved. Click on the ORACLE logo to go back to the main menu.

16.

Click Address Book.

17.

Enter susie.parker for the username, welcome1 for the password and click the Save Password checkbox. Then click Login.

18.

Your username and password have been saved. Click on the ORACLE logo to go back to the main menu.
