Martin has specialized in the Oracle DBMS since 2001, his main interests are high availability and disaster recovery solutions. As of the last two years Martin spent more and more time appreciating the benefits of virtualisation for Oracle products, mainly by using VMWare ESX Server and Oracle's won offering, Oracle VM.
During his career Martin had plenty of opportunity to explore the latest Oracle technologies and products in diverse customer environments which include Release 11g of the database, strong authentication and authorization through LDAP conforming directories as well as security in general.
If you'd like to meet Martin in person it's easiest to find him at UKOUG Special Interest Group meetings in the south of England where he can be found presenting about his latest research and experiences.
In the remaining spare time, Martin contributes to the Oracle Scene and DOAG news, the UK and German Oracle User Group publications as well as the iX journal which is read by over 50 000 people in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
