Genesys/Oracle Integrated CRM

Oracle has joined the Genesys Interacts Program as a strategic member to develop and support integration between Oracle CRM applications and Genesys contact center software. The alliance will provide joint Oracle-Genesys customers with a certified, prepackaged integration solution that can help companies reduce the length and cost of integration projects.

The first phase of the integration will enable companies to automate and manage telephone interactions by combining the Genesys computer telephony integration and routing capabilities with Oracle's comprehensive customer data and business rules. Future releases will deliver integrated multimedia routing, providing the ability for agents to manage phone, e-mail, and Web transactions consistently and efficiently.

Clarity Technology, based in Cheshire, U.K., has developed SunRAC, a customizable off-the-shelf database cluster solution, with Sun and Oracle. This bundled offering combines Sun hardware, Oracle applications, rDBA Solutions' remote managed services and consultancy, and Clarity's backup and data-continuance options. It is aimed at small to medium-size businesses in the U.K. that run e-business applications such as ERP, SCM, HR, and payroll.

SunRAC, a packaged Oracle Database Real Application Clusters (RAC) on a Sun cluster, "is unbreakable, withstanding system or site failure as well as human error," says Kevin Ashby, Oracle specialist at Sun Microsystems. "With fewer boxes than other systems, hardware, software, and system management costs are very much reduced."

Oracle, CGE&Y Strategic Agreement

Cap Gemini Ernst & Young (CGE&Y) International B.V., of Paris, France, and Oracle have entered into a two-year, worldwide agreement to combine the global industry and technology expertise of CGE&Y with Oracle's integrated application server technology.

Thirteen CGE&Y demo centers around the world—staffed by both companies—will showcase Oracle Application Server and Oracle Database solutions. Both companies will dedicate teams to deliver Oracle technology solutions in major geographic regions worldwide, and CGE&Y will train hundreds of consultants on Oracle application server technology.

Shunra and Oracle Demonstrate Maximum Availability on WANs

Shunra Software Ltd., based in New York, is teaming with Oracle to demonstrate and model Oracle's Maximum Availability Architecture (MAA) fault-tolerant disaster recovery solution using Shunra's wide area network emulation products.

MAA uses Oracle's high-availability (HA) technologies and best-practice recommendations to maximize systems availability and ease setup and configuration. Oracle is using the award-winning Shunra/Storm solution suite to emulate customers' enterprise WANs in its labs, enabling Oracle to assess the functionality, robustness, scalability, and performance of MAA when deployed over customers' production networks.

Shunra will incorporate the intelligence garnered from these tests into best-practice recommendations for its customers. The information gathered will also provide important feedback to Oracle's HA research and development teams.

Oracle Application Server Building Partner Momentum
