DBArtisan and DBArtisan Workbench Get Upgrades

Embarcadero Technologies, Inc., has released DBArtisan, DBArtisan Professional, and DBArtisan Workbench 8.0. The updated products offer enhanced performance management facilities for Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) environments and Oracle Database 10g.

Embarcadero DBArtisan enables DBAs to concurrently manage multiple databases from a single graphical console. With the new version, Embarcadero supports the monitoring of Oracle RAC environments and is the first third-party vendor to support the new performance diagnostics in Oracle Database 10g, including the new response and wait-time metrics. These metrics allow Embarcadero Performance Analyst users to track SQL and bottlenecks over time and provide deep drill-downs to pinpoint performance-related problems.

DTM Migration Kit Automates Migration

DTM Soft has released DTM Migration Kit, a solution that automates data migration. To use the DTM Migration Kit, a database administrator sets the rules for data migration, using a wizardlike interface. The rule-setting procedure is performed only once, after which the migration can be done automatically at scheduled intervals.

DTM Migration Kit works with unified interfaces of ODBC and IDAPI as well as with Oracle Call Interface. It can import data from plain text, Microsoft Access databases, Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, Paradox files, and DBF (dBase and FoxPro) files. It can export data to plain text, RTF, HTML, XML, and binary large objects (BLOBs).

Tax Processing, Encryption Solutions Now Integrate with Oracle

Oracle and Vertex customers now have the option of selecting a global solution that enables them to improve tax management efficiencies for sales, use, and value-added taxes through a centralized system. Vertex O Series, a Web-services-based tax solution, has been officially integrated with Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11i.

Vertex O Series interfaces with Oracle's Payables and Purchasing applications and the existing sales tax interface to Receivables, Order Management, and CRM. A single instance of Vertex can support multiple business units and multiple instances of Oracle applications and can improve enterprisewide tax process visibility and regulatory compliance.
