Beginning with Beginners
I regularly receive Oracle Magazine. I'm a beginner, and I want to learn how to make use of Oracle Database, but I can't find a vivid tutorial for beginners in the magazine. I suggest you create a space in Oracle Magazine that offers beginners more insight on how to start using the database.

I really appreciate Oracle Magazine. However, I'm new to Oracle, so I'd like you to add a section to the magazine for beginners like me.

Still on Oracle9i
I've been an Oracle Magazine subscriber for the past two years, and it gives me great pleasure to say that I have never once missed an issue. You guys are right on the money!
However, as a PL/SQL developer and database administrator, I would like to see two to three articles on Oracle9i Database, because in India we are still using Oracle9i and are likely to continue using it for some time to come. Starting with a couple of technical articles on Oracle9i would be an immense help.

Joyful Surprise
I wish to express my joy over the release of Oracle's free starter database [Oracle Database 10g Express Edition].
I'm a Java developer with a special interest in database management. Recently I switched to Oracle JDeveloper as my IDE, and I have since been considering using Oracle Database to manage my data. Oracle Database 10g Express Edition came just in timeit appears as if Oracle knew what my needs were.
Who says Oracle doesn't support newbies?

Rules and Expressions
I'm a regular reader of Oracle Magazine, and I'm interested in exploring two new features in Oracle Database 10g: Rules Manager and Expression Filter. I haven't come across any books (with the exception of the manual) or articles on this topic on Oracle Technology Network or in Oracle Magazine.
Publishing articles on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

For more information on these features, consider using Oracle's new search product, Oracle Secure Enterprise Search 10g (see "Oracle Briefs," and "OTN Community Bulletin."). You can use Oracle Secure Enterprise Search to search for two Oracle white papersOracle Database 10g: Handling Application Events with Rules Manager and Oracle Database 10g Expression Filter Overview. In addition, you can read Jonathan Gennick's May/June 2005 Oracle Magazine article on Oracle Expression Filter.

I want to request that you include an in-depth article on backing up an Oracle databaseand in a manner that a beginner can understand. Could you please cover situations like copying a database from one computer to another when the computers are not connected? This process involves complex steps that only a database administrator can do.

PL/SQL, Please
I'd like to recommend an Oracle Magazine section providing PL/SQL case studies. One case study could cover how to implement transactions in PL/SQL, a second could cover using the procedures in the SYS.DBMS_DEBUG package, and a third could cover effective comment style in PL/SQL objects.

Correction
We regret misspelling the name of Oracle Certified Advantage Partner IT&C (incorrectly listed as T&C) in our May/June 2006 issue. The error has been corrected. The Editors
