Partners Offer Wide Range of Windows-Based Solutions

Many leading independent software vendors (ISVs) provide business solutions built on Oracle Database 10g for the Microsoft Windows platform. ISVs in every industry vertical are using Oracle Database 10g to build secure, reliable, and scalable business solutions for Windows. Such solutions take advantage of Oracle Database 10g capabilities including Oracle Automatic Storage Management, Oracle Application Express, Oracle Real Application Clusters, Oracle Transparent Data Encryption, and XMLQuery (XQuery).

Since 1985, Oracle has helped its customers build mission-critical database systems on Microsoft platforms. "The Windows platform is very important to many of our customers and partners," says Andy Mendelsohn, Oracle's senior vice president of Database Server Technologies. "By deploying applications built using Oracle Database 10g on Windows, our partners can take full advantage of the grid computing and other features uniquely offered by Oracle. And our customers benefit from a wider choice of highly available, scalable, and secure business solutions for their Windows platforms."

The following is a sample of the ISV solutions available on Windows from Oracle partners.

Autodesk, an Oracle Certified Partner, produces solutions for mapping and geographic information systems (GISs). Autodesk applications offer thematic and precision mapping, spatial 2-D and 3-D analysis, raster image manipulation, database querying, the ability to publish and access print-quality maps on Web-based and mobile devices, and more. Based on Oracle Spatial database technology, Autodesk GIS Design Server—together with Autodesk's Map, Envision, MapGuide, OnSite View, and OnSite Enterprise applications—addresses design and planning, infrastructure maintenance, reporting and analysis, and data publishing. "Autodesk and Oracle are working to simplify complex system customizations that leverage investments in infrastructure and location," says Chris Bradshaw, vice president of Autodesk's Infrastructure Solutions Division. "By partnering with Oracle, Autodesk can ensure that customers have a secure, central repository and a simple, affordable means to get the greatest return from their geospatial data."

Bottomline Technologies, an Oracle Certified Partner, provides finance-related solutions and services to about 60 of the Fortune 100 and about 90 of the FTSE 100 companies. Bottomline supports more than 9,000 customers who span the financial services, insurance, healthcare, technology, communications, education, media, manufacturing, and government markets. Of those customers, 3,000 of them access the company's payment and invoice automation capabilities on a subscription basis.

"Combining the technological innovation of Bottomline's financial process automation solutions and Oracle Database 10g not only presents a powerful competitive differentiator for us, but also creates a fully integrated solution that meets the complex payments and reporting needs of mid- to large-sized businesses," says Joe Mullen, CEO of Bottomline Technologies. "Through our Oracle Certified Partner status, Bottomline uniquely extends customers' Oracle infrastructure investments with highly sophisticated corporate and electronic banking applications." Bottomline's portfolio includes providing applications for payments lifecycle management; management of the delivery, output, and archiving of Oracle data; Web-based submission, approval, and monitoring of payments; hosted invoice presentment and payment; and automated exchange of invoices and related documents with vendors.

Fair Isaac, an Oracle Certified Partner, provides decision-management solutions powered by advanced analytics. "Fair Isaac's Network Assurance Analytics solution is a great example of how our innovations, coupled with Oracle's premier database, are driving the infusion of analytics into exciting new capabilities and applications that positively impact our clients' businesses," says Tony Zarrella, vice president of Telecom Risk Analytics solutions at Fair Isaac.

The company's solutions include Blaze Advisor, a business rules management system that helps to automate decision-making across an enterprise; Debt Manager, an integrated solution for debt collection and recovery; Recovery Management System, an application for reducing recovery costs, interfacing with collection agencies, and automating business processes; Falcon Fraud Manager, an industry-standard payment card fraud-detection application that employs behavioral profiling, analytics, fraud/transaction data, and case and rules management; and Capstone Decision Manager, a high-speed, multithreaded, automated solution for making individualized credit decisions.

FAMIS Software, an Oracle Certified Partner, produces an integrated workplace management system with modules for facilities management, facilities maintenance and operations, real estate, project management, and performance management. Designed by facilities management experts and widely used in corporate, education, and government markets—often out-of-the-box, with little or no customization needed—FAMIS transforms a facilities management operation into a fully collaborative environment where employees, customers, suppliers, contractors, and partners all work as one. It provides direct access to critical facilities data via the Web, improving the flow of business information with less human intervention and lower customer contact cost.

"The fact that the FAMIS product suite uses the Oracle toolset provides us the scalability and stability needed for the ever-demanding requirements of our clients within the corporate, education, and government market segments," says Dave Levenstein, manager of business development at FAMIS Software.

FileNet, an Oracle Certified Partner, produces content management products that manage business information and bring control and efficiency to business processes. Managing digital content, e-mail, images, Web content, records, forms, and the business processes that drive decisions helps companies to meet regulatory requirements. FileNet solutions manage content wherever it resides, and in whatever format, providing the right information at the right time for effective team collaboration. This helps people, business systems, and content to work together in a streamlined, automated environment.

"With more than 40 percent of FileNet deployments on Windows Server environments, we consider support of Oracle Database 10g on Windows an essential part of delivering compelling value and interoperability to our 4,300 customers, 7,200 installations, and 6 million users worldwide," says David Caldeira, vice president of platform product marketing for FileNet. "Customers such as Shell and Airbus France would not be in full FileNet deployment without our supporting Oracle Database on Windows."
