Operating Systems

- Linux x86 with kernel 2.4.9 or higher
Note: Netscape Navigator 4.0 or higher, or Mozilla, is required to use the Oracle Calendar desktop client online help. The directory that contains the Netscape or Mozilla executable file must be set in the installation path you specify.

To Install the Oracle Calendar Desktop Client on Linux
- Unpack the distribution archive into a temporary directory (
/tmpis the sample directory used in these instructions). - At the prompt, enter:
cd /tmp
At the prompt, type:
gtar zxvf /tmp/cal_linux_x.tar.gz
- Change directories to
OracleCalendar_inst: (entercd OracleCalendar_inst). - If you want to install using a full graphical index, run
gui_install.sh. - If you prefer to install using a text mode interface, run
text_install.sh. You will be prompted for installation and shortcut directories.
