This page includes the system requirements and installation instructions for the Oracle Calendar desktop client on the Solaris platform.

Note: Netscape Navigator 4.0 or higher, or Mozilla, is required to use the Oracle Calendar desktop client online help.
The directory that contains the Netscape or Mozilla executable file must be in the installation path you specify.

To Install the Oracle Calendar Desktop Client on Solaris

1. Unpack the distribution archive into a temporary directory (/tmp is the sample directory used in these instructions).
2. At the prompt, enter:
   
   cd /tmp


3. At the prompt, enter:
   
   gtar zxvf /tmp/cal_solaris_x.tar.gz
   
   
4. Change directories to OracleCalendar_inst (enter cd OracleCalendar_inst).
5. If you want to install using a full graphical index, run gui_install.sh.
6. If you prefer to install using a text mode interface, run text_install.sh. You will be prompted for installation and shortcut directories.
