Oracle Calendar Sync installs on the desktop and replaces the desktop Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) device's sync conduits to synchronize data from the calendar server to the device and from the device to the calendar server. You can configure your preferences for the range of data and data types for synchronization: for meetings and all-day events, including location, attendee lists, attendee status and details; for tasks and related details; and for contacts.
Oracle Mobile Data Sync uses the SyncML standard (a networking language based on Extensible Markup Language that lets wireless devices sync data with Wireless Application Service Providers), to synchronize calendar and contact information between the calendar server and other SyncML-compliant devices or applications over a Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) connection. With this solution, you are not tied to your desktop for synchronization; you can perform a full synchronization from anywhere an HTTP connection is available.
