Public distribution lists are similar to personal distribution lists. Public distribution lists, however, are created by an administrator, and can be viewed using Oracle WebMail.
Public distribution lists can be unrestricted, restricted, or closed, and they can be moderated, edited, discussion, or announcement lists.
This flexibility lets you and your coworkers subscribe to lists of general interest, such as discussions about your company's products. Managers might moderate lists to discuss privileged information, and invite only those subscribers who need to know about it.
Any user can own a public distribution list. To create a list, you send a request to an Oracle Mail administrator. You can manage a list using Oracle WebMail, or by sending e-mail commands from any other e-mail client.
