Oracle Collaboration Suite is an integrated set of applications that facilitate collaborative work in enterprises. Oracle Collaboration Suite contains applications that can manage calendars, schedule meetings, conduct online real-time multimedia meetings, send and receive e-mail, voice mail, fax, instant messages, store and share information in a server-based file system. Oracle Collaboration Suite significantly reduces the overhead of performing collaborative work in an enterprise, which in turn improves the productivity of the enterprise workers.
Oracle Collaboration Suite applications can be accessed from desktops, laptops, telephones, mobile device browsers or native clients.
You can access Oracle Collaboration Suite applications from your mobile device using the following methods:
Voice Access: Using a mobile telephone, you can dial the number for voice access to your company’s Oracle Collaboration Suite applications and use the applications through voice commands or by using the telephone keypad. To enable voice access, the company’s administrator must install and configure necessary Oracle Collaboration Suite and third-party system components first. The administrator will then publish the voice access dial-in number. See Voice Access for information on how to use voice access to Oracle Collaboration Suite applications.
Notifications: Notifications is a one-way communication, between Oracle Collaboration Suite and your mobile device. Oracle Collaboration Suite notifies you when you receive an urgent message or fax. Using the server-side wizard, you can specify how you want to be notified (such as by voice, e-mail, or text messaging). To enable notification, the administrator must set up the necessary notification Oracle Collaboration Suite system component first. For notification, your mobile telephone must be capable of receiving the notification. For example, to receive a text message notification, your mobile telephone must have text messaging capability. See Notifications for information on how to use the notification feature of Oracle Collaboration Suite applications.
Text Access: By sending a short message command to a telephone number or an e-mail address, you can access Oracle Collaboration Suite data. For example, you can send a text message cal n to the telephone number set up for text messaging access and look up your calendar to get a text message reply with the next appointment for the day. To enable text messaging access, the administrator must set up the telephone number or e-mail address to send text messages. See Text Access to learn how to use the text messaging access feature of Oracle Collaboration Suite.
Browser Access: Using the browser of a mobile telephone (such as a WAP browser), you can access several Oracle Collaboration Suite applications. Browser-based access to Oracle Collaboration Suite applications is supported without the need for additional system configuration, in most cases. See Browser Access for more information on how to access Oracle Collaboration Suite applications using mobile telephone browsers.
Calendar and E-mail Native Client Access: Calendar and e-mail can be accessed using a browser or a native application (applications written in a programming language and using operating system-native user interface libraries). Access to Oracle Collaboration Suite data includes always-available e-mail (also known as Mobile Push Mail).
