- Where can I get more help?
- I cannot find my phone. How do I stop mail delivery?
- I said my account ID and PIN at the appropriate login prompts and then was told to wait. I had to wait a long time while the "busy working on your request" sound played.
- When using the Directory, I said a name but the system replied,"I don't understand".
- I tried searching for a name using the keypad, but the system told me, "I can't find any matches for that name".
- When using the Calendar, I said "new appointment", but the system told me that this feature is not available.
- When using the Address Book (Contacts), I said, "Call ", but the system replied, "There are too many matches for this contact".
- When using Files, I said "Fax" but heard an error message.
- The system does not hear me.
- The touchtone buttons do not seem to work when I respond to the system prompts.
- When I log in to the mobile portal (/ptg/rm), I enter my credentials, but receive the error message, "The user did not type in an account ID".
- When I access Calendar from the Web portal (http:///pls/portal), my appointments display with a different time from what I see when I access Calendar from the mobile portal (/ptg/rm/).
- Appointments from Ask, Voice, or mobile browser interface show up in a different time zone than on my desktop. Why?
- I sent an Ask command by text messaging/SMS, but did not receive a reply. Why?
- Why does it take so long to get a reply back by text messaging/SMS or e-mail?
- Why does the system not understand my voice commands?
- The system is reading my messages very slowly. Why is there a delay?
- When I go to the ptg/rm URL, it asks me for an account number and PIN. Why does it not ask me for my SSO username and password?

How do I set up a mobile access account?
If you are a first-time user of the mobile collaboration suite, you set up mobile access by registering a mobile device to the mobile portal (/ptg/rm). The number of the mobile device becomes your mobile access account ID. To set up mobile access, first log into the Oracle Collaboration Suite using your Single Sign-on account ID and PIN. Click Mobile Preferences and then do the following:
- Login on the portal.
- Click Mobile Preferences.
- Enter your phone number (with country code) in the appropriate fields.
- Select a numeric PIN.
- Click Continue. Your account ID is the number of your mobile phone (country code included).

I have a PDA (regular Palm, Pocket PC PDA) without wireless access. Does it work with Oracle Collaboration Suite?
Yes, you can synchronize your regular Palm or Pocket PC device with a cradle without wireless connectivity. Oracle Mobile Data Sync synchronizes Oracle Calendar with PDAs based on either Palm OS (Windows or Mac), or Windows CE / Pocket PC (3.x or higher), enabling full two-way synchronization of meetings, appointments, contacts, notes and tasks. Oracle Mobile Data Sync takes Personal Digital Assistant functionality beyond Personal Information Management (PIM), by allowing users to access information such as meeting attendees/resources and attendee status. Oracle's sync preference menu allows users to customize the amount of information that is synchronized, as well as download attendee lists and meeting details.

The next release of Oracle Collaboration Suite will support RIM-like, real-time e-mail push functionality for Pocket PC Phones and Smartphones.

How do I verify if I can use my mobile phone to access Oracle Collaboration Suite by text messaging/SMS or to receive SMS notifications?
Oracle uses a third-party SMS aggregator to send out text messages/SMS from Oracle Collaboration Suite. If you intend to receive SMS notifications for Calendar/Email, or wish to access Collaboration Suite through text messaging/SMS, you should first verify that your mobile phone carrier is supported by Oracle SMS provider. After logging in to Oracle, go to http://collabsuite.oracle.com/help/wireless/Mobileway%20Network%20Reach.doc to see the list of supported carriers in each country.

Can I get all my e-mail attachments with voice access to e-mail?
The voice access system supports text and audio file attachments. Attachments are read (in the case of text) or played (in the case of audio files) automatically, as if they were part of the message body. For a message with audio attachments, you may either listen to all of the attachments, or SKIP to the next message. There are currently no commands for navigating within the text (or attachments) of a single message.

In what order will my voice access messages be read/played?
First, the system will read your new messages in the order of least recent to most recent. Next, old messages will play starting with the most recent to the least recent. You may interrupt the reading of a message at any time with various spoken commands, such as SKIP (go to the next message) or DELETE.

How do I ensure that I receive notifications/alerts on a particular device?
Go to the Collaboration Suite Portal and click Wireless and Voice in the upper right-hand corner. Now click Advanced. On the Advanced page, if you do not already have one, create a new contact rule, and specify which device you want to receive notification on. For example, if you would like your alerts to be delivered by text messaging/SMS, add a mobile phone and give it a name such as My SMS phone, choose SMS me at My SMS phone from the drop-down list. Specify in the Notification Details section the Notification Channel to be by SMS.

You can access Oracle Collaboration Suite from any phone. Even if you have a simple cell phone, you still have multiple options to access Oracle Collaboration Suite:
- Simply call toll-free 888.506.8889 within North America, toll-free 800.6722.5322 from outside North America, or the toll number +1.512.821.9500 from anywhere in the world. You will be prompted for a numeric Account ID and PIN. You can talk to the system or enter the numbers on your phone keypad. After you are logged in, follow the voice prompts and say commands such as: "Calendar" to hear your calendar, "Email" to have email read to you, "Directory" to look up and call people, or "Files" to have your files listed for faxing to a fax near you (See the Voice Quick Reference.).
- Most mobile phones are capable of sending short text messages. Consider Collaboration Suite your new best friend and send it messages to help you be more productive. You have many choices to access Oracle Collaboration Suite from a mobile device depending on the mobile device capabilities and user preferences. For example:
Native Mobile Email Clients Use any native IMAP mail client (such as: MS Pocket Outlook) to access Oracle Email.
Wireless Portal Use any mobile phone or PDA with browsing capabilities to access Oracle Collaboration Suite (Mail, Address Book, Corporate Directory, Files, Calendar, Contact Rules).

Do I need to do any setup to gain Wireless & Voice access?
Yes, you must set up your numeric account number (commonly referred as Voice Account Number) to get Wireless & Voice access. Numeric account numbers must be used because some phones only have a numeric keypad.
Here are the steps to set up a numeric account number:
- Go to the Collaboration Suite Portal page.
- Click Mobile Preferences in the scrolling list of links.
- Enter your Mobile Phone number, Work Phone Number, and PIN. Your Mobile Phone number becomes your numeric account number for Wireless & Voice access. You will need this numeric account number and PIN for Wireless & Voice access.

What do I enter if I do not have a mobile phone, or if I have more than one mobile phone?
You can enter any unique phone number. Oracle recommends your Mobile Phone Number so that when you use voice access from your mobile phone, you will not have to enter the account number. This feature is based on the concept of trusted devices; if you use voice access from one of the phone listed as your mobile or work phone, the system does not prompt you for your Voice account number, and only prompts for your PIN.

Here are the steps:
- Go to your wireless browser and enter the following URL to access Wireless Portal: http://<mid-tier>:<port>/ptg/rm
For example: http://mobile.oracleum.com:7777/ptg/rm is the URL for Wireless access to the TDS instance.
- Click Login, and enter your numeric Voice Account Number (for example: 16505551234), and PIN.
- If you are using this account for the first time, you will set up login information for every application.

Do I add the 00 or 011 prefixes to SMS or MMS messages?
Do not add the 00 or 011 prefix to an SMS or MMS message, even if you live in a country that requires these prefixes for international long distance calls. You need only to provide the country code and the cell phone number with an area code (if any).
NOTE: You must provide these prefixes for voice notifications.

How do I invoke an ASK-Enabled Application through an Asynchronous Device?
To invoke an ASK-enabled application through an asynchronous device, send a message to the ASK site-wide address with the subject line or message body containing the short name and the required parameter values. For example, to invoke a traffic service that provides traffic information about a particular segment of a highway, send a message with tr sfo 101n in either the subject line or message body. This service (tr) expects the first parameter to be the city (sfo) and the second parameter to be the highway (101n). Each of these parameters is separated by a blank space.

You can forward an email message to a fax machine. To fax the message body to a fax machine, say: "fax message" followed by the fax telephone number. You can also send the message body and attachments by saying "fax all", or fax an attachment only by saying "fax attachment number" where number is the attachment number.

In Notification Settings, you choose (from a drop-down list) the disposition of notifications that are received outside of the days and times that you selected. You can choose to discard notifications, or delay their delivery until your selected Active Time and Days.

I cannot find my phone. How do I stop mail delivery?
You should report lost or stolen devices immediately to the system administrator. As an added precaution, you can stop mail and calendar notifications by deleting the device. To do this:
- Log into the Web portal (http:///pls/portal).
- Click Mobile Preferences.
- Click Advanced.
- Select the phone from the My Communication Devices table and then click Delete.

When using the Directory, I said a name but the system replied,"I don't understand".
Try saying the name a few more times. If the system still says that it does not understand, then you may have mispronounced the name or the name may not be in the directory. Because the system may have trouble understanding you if you call from a noisy environment, or may misinterpret background noises as voice commands, you must always speak loudly and clearly when prompted.

When using the phone's keypad to search for a user, always be sure to enter the name as *. Verify that you have entered the name correctly. (You can also enter the last name without entering the asterisk). If the system cannot find the user, then the user may not be in the Directory.

When using the Address Book (Contacts), I said, "Call ", but the system replied, "There are too many matches for this contact".
For Oracle Collaboration Suite 10g Release 1 (10.1.1.0.2), the Address Book can only retrieve unique contact names. If there are several contact names in your address book that are identical, then you must modify either the first names or last names to differentiate them from one another.

The system does not hear me.
Be sure that your phone is not set on mute. Because the system may not understand what you say when you call from a noisy environment, or can misinterpret background noise as a voice command, you must always speak loudly and clearly when prompted. If you hear the "busy working on your request" sound, then the system is not listening for a voice command. Wait for the sound to stop and then say a command when prompted.

The touchtone buttons do not seem to work when I respond to the system prompts.
You cannot always use the keypad in place of a voice command. Generally, only use the keypad when prompted by the system or when the system tells you to enter a number.

When I log in to the mobile portal (/ptg/rm), I enter my credentials, but receive the error message, "The user did not type in an account ID".
Verify that you entered your Account ID (that is, the number of your mobile phone) and PIN that you selected in the mobile portal and not your Oracle Collaboration Suite SSO (single sign-on) user name and password.

When I access Calendar from the Web portal (http:///pls/portal), my appointments display with a different time from what I see when I access Calendar from the mobile portal (/ptg/rm/).
The time zone settings in Calendar are different from what you set in the mobile portal. To check the time zone in Calendar:
- Log into the Web portal (http:///pls/portal).
- Click Calendar.
- Click Preferences. Select the appropriate time zone from the list.
To check your own time zone setting:
- Log into in the Web portal (http:///pls/portal).
- Click Preferences.
- Select the My profile tab. Your time zone displays under Additional Personal Details.
- To modify this setting, click Edit my profile.

Appointments from Ask, Voice, or mobile browser interface show up in a different time zone than on my desktop. Why?
Currently, time zone setting for all wireless and voice interface is different from the time zone setting of Calendar server, so you must set up the same time zone for both Calendar and Wireless in order to display your meeting time correctly on the wireless interface.
Here are the steps to configure the Time Zone setting for wireless and voice access:
- Go to the Collaboration Suite Portal and click Wireless and Voice in the upper right-hand corner.
- Click Advanced.
- Under User Preferences, specify your Time Zone, the same as your Calendar time zone setting.

I sent an Ask command by text messaging/SMS, but did not receive a reply. Why?
It could be one of many reasons:
- Ensure that you entered the Country Code before the phone number during setup. Notifications and Ask access will NOT work without a country code. For USA/Canada, enter +1 in Country Code field. For example: +1.650.555.1234, +44.118.924.6600.
- Your mobile phone carrier may not be supported by Oracle's SMS provider. After logging in to Oracle, go to http://collabsuite.oracle.com/help/wireless/Mobileway%20Network%20Reach.doc to see the list of supported carriers in each country.
- Some non-GSM carriers, such as Sprint in the USA, can receive text messages, but text messages sent from these phones are not received by our Ask service.
- If you are roaming, you might be able to receive text messages, but might not be able to send messages. If you were able to use the Ask service before travel
