APEX-AT-WORK - This application is an upgrade of the original APEX-AT-Work Example application. It includes lots of new examples, a new layout, new techniques (like screen casts) and an extended documentation. It is not a normal APEX application which includes lot's of business logic. This application shows how to use the new technologies out there. The core is based on a javascript library called ExtJS. This library creates a completely new look and feel wich makes APEX even nicer to use. But also rarely used APEX WEB 2.0 features are integrated based on typical examples.
Martin Giffy D'Souza - Canada
APEX Rules & Guidelines - The goal of this application is to quickly allow development teams to create and maintain a living Rules & Guidelines document. The concept of this application is based on Patrick Cimolini's, from the Cayman Islands Government, Rules & Guidelines template. A Rule is something that is to be followed 100% of the time, while a Guideline is to be followed 90% of the time. Developing your organization's Rules & Guidelines should be a team process. This application allows for that process to take place in a quick manner. All users can submit proposed rules or guidelines, then as a team (once a week) you can decide to accept or reject the proposed rule or guideline. By putting the R&Gs in a web application it makes the standards a living document and allows developers to easily use these standards.

The approval authority will be able to either accept / reject the leave and will detail the reason for the same. Once the approving authority processes the leave, it is forwarded to the HR department or HR Helpdesk for further processing. The HR helpdesk further processes the leaves and the leaves records are updated accordingly. Similarly a user can also request for cancellation of a processed record. At each stage the user will be notified via email.

Portal for a suite of Apex applications - This is an application which can be used to manage user accesses to a suite of Apex applications. The purpose of the application is to prevent developers having to re-invent user management functions for every application. If the steps detailed in the readme file are applied to your applications, the user only needs to log on once to the Portal - they can then access each of their applications without having to authenticate again. Using the Portal application, you can define applications and the roles within those applications, then assign those roles to users that you also define with the Portal app. The application comes with a custom authentication scheme, which can be applied across a suite of applications (this could be readily changed to use another authentication scheme, eg SSO). A regular (non-admin) user can access the Portal application, and is presented with a menu of the applications they have access to.
