Oracle SQL Developer - Extensions Exchange
Oracle SQL Developer was first released in production
in March 2006. Following on from the successful first release, Oracle
released SQL Developer 1.1 in December 2006. The latest release
is Oracle SQL Developer 1.5, available from April 2008.
SQL Developer was developed in Java leveraging
the Oracle JDeveloper IDE. As such, users can write their own extensions
to add functionality specific to their requirements. Even before
production, users of the early adopters releases were writing and
publishing extensions.
Creating your own
- SQL Developer uses the JDeveloper Extension
SDK. An extension
development kit with samples and documentation are available
to help you build your own extensions.
- To add XML extensions, please refer to
this article on OTN for guidance.
We invite you to contribute to this exchange by
sharing your own SQL Developer extensions. Please post an entry
on the discussion
forum, or contact sue.harper@oracle.com,
if you'd like to upload your extension on this page.
Available Extensions
With no updates from the developers of these extensions
for SQL Developer 1.5, the only extensions listed are for earlier
releases. Some will work in SQL Developer 1.5, but not all of them
do. If your extension is not working with SQL Developer 1.5, why
not contact the developer and let them know how useful their extension
is?
This page lists the latest extensions available
for each of the releases:
Note: Extensions under 1.1, should
work under 1.2. and 1.2.1. For each extension, go to the URL given
for details on how to install it.
