Oracle HTTP Server
Oracle HTTP
Server is the Web server component for Oracle Fusion Middleware. It
provides a HTTP listener for Oracle WebLogic Server and the framework
for hosting static pages, dynamic pages, and applications over the Web.
Key aspects of Oracle HTTP Server are its technology, its serving of
both static and dynamic content and its integration with both Oracle
and non-Oracle products.
Technology
- Oracle HTTP Server is based on the proven, open source
technology of Apache. Oracle HTTP Server 11g is based on
Apache 2.2
infrastructure, and includes all base Apache modules and modules
developed specifically by Oracle.
Static
and Dynamic Content - Oracle HTTP Server serves static
content directly or via standard interfaces such as WebDAV standard.
Great flexibility is provided in dynamic content generation and many
languages, such as Java, C/C++, Perl, PHP and PL/SQL.
Integration
- While Oracle HTTP Server has standalone deployment
options, it can also be deployed in a highly integrated manner with
rest of the Oracle Fusion Middleware and Database products. In
addition, Oracle offers plug-ins (Proxy and OSSO) for integration of
the Oracle Fusion Middleware with non-Oracle web servers.
The features of single sign-on, clustered deployment, and high
availability enhance the operation of the Oracle HTTP Server. Oracle
HTTP Server 11g
is available off the Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g Web
Tier and Utilities DVD.
