Administering OracleAS Portal: Introduction

Because OracleAS Portal is part of Oracle Application Server, administrators also have access to OracleAS services, such as monitoring and configuration tools, single sign-on, directory integration, caching, and security. All features required for managing users and groups and for administering the portal and database are incorporated into a series of dialog boxes accessed through portlets on a portal page.
