Introduction
This document summarizes the functionality of the
Oracle Application Server (OracleAS)
Provider for Jive Forums. For recent updates to these
release notes
and other OracleAS Portal documentation, please refer to the Oracle
Technology
Network (OTN) Portal
Center. You can find valuable information related to the
OracleAS
Provider for Jive Forums in the 'Portal - Portal Development Kit' Discussion
Forum on OTN.

Note that the OracleAS Provider for Jive Forums is not certified with earlier versions of Jive Forums, e.g. Jive 3.x.

General Issues and Workarounds
This section describes general issues and their workarounds for the
OracleAS Provider for Jive Forums.
The following are known issues with Jive Discussion Forums, when it
is
registered as an External Application with Oracle AS Portal.

Ensure that the JiveURL has been
specified in the Jive Forums setup. You can verify this URL in the Jive
administration console under:

-> Jive Forums Systems -> Jive Properties -> jiveURL

The application server hosting Jive
Forums needs to be in the same domain as OracleAS Portal.

From the Jive admin page check to see if the jiveURL property has been set. You can find this setting at System -> Jive Forums Systems -> Jive Properties -> jiveURL

Set the jiveURL value to http://<host>:<port>/<jive-context>/ or https://<host>:<port>/<jive-context>/ replacing <host>, <port> and <jive-context> accordingly, e.g. https://myURL.com/jive
Known Issues
The following are known issues at the time of writing:
- The NNTP gateways do not work when the forums are running in
Single Sign-On mode.
- Portlet screens are not NLS compliant.
- IE Specific: An extra whitespace is observed at the top of the
portlet, when the number of rows to be viewed is set to a large value
such as 30+.
- If a forum has been configured with write permissions to all, the user is
displayed as 'Guest' when he attempts to post a message by accessing
the Forums via the Portlets.
