Can custom
Java code be integrated with Oracle Workflow 2.6.3.5?
Yes. The Oracle
Workflow Builder supports a type of function activity called an external
Java function activity. External Java function activities let you model
workflow processes that include Java programs executed on the middle tier.
The Java Function Activity Agent is a perpetually running Java program which
dequeues messages from the wf_outbound_queue, executes a Java class you
defined at design time, and enqueues the message back on the wf_inbound_queue.
You can run multiple Java Function Activity Agent processes at the same
time if required to handle a larger volume of activities.
Does Oracle
Workflow 2.6.3.5 support Oracle Real Application Clusters?
Yes. Oracle Workflow
2.6.3 supports Oracle Real Application Clusters, which enable out-of-the-box,
near-linear scaling transparency. Oracle Real Application Clusters provide
transparent application scalability by quickly and efficiently sharing frequently
accessed data across all the servers in a cluster, resolving all manners
of contention between servers in the process. Please make sure the TNS descriptions
you provide when installing and configuring Oracle Workflow are RAC entries.
Can I send
e-mail notifications with attachments?
Yes.
Oracle Workflow provides
a mechanism that lets you attach content with notifications which can
be sent via e-mail. You can choose to send URL links to stored documents,
or you can use the PL/SQL document feature of Oracle Workflow to generate
a document that is sent with the e-mail. Ensure that the document type
is set appropriately for the type of file being attached. For example:
'application/pdf; name=mydoc.pdf'
How do I monitor
and manage my Oracle Workflow installation?
Oracle Workflow
provides system administrators with a standard Web browser-based, dashboard-style
monitoring tool called Oracle Workflow Manager, which is integrated with
Oracle Enterprise Manager. Oracle Workflow Manager provides administrators
with comprehensive system administation functions, from a quick view of
system status to drilldown capabilities for work items and business events.
It also provides a graphical view of the system load.
