JDeveloper Service Update

Title: JDeveloper Service Update 1

Release Date: Feb 27, 2006

Build Number: 10.1.3.3699 (internal use only)

Description

This is the first Service Update (SU1). It applies to JDeveloper 10.1.3.0.4 and fixes some commonly-encountered critical issues. We recommend that all customers apply this Service Update.

Installation

  1. Choose Help > Check for Updates in JDeveloper.
  2. Select the Official Oracle Extensions and Updates update center and click Next.
  3. Select the JDeveloper Service Update 1 and click Next.
  4. After the download completes, click Finish.
  5. You will be prompted to restart JDeveloper. Click Yes.
  6. During restart click Yes to confirm overwriting each updated file.
  7. Click No when prompted whether to perform a migration from a previous installation.
  8. (SU1 only) Exit JDeveloper and restart again. This is temporary and will not be required for future Service Updates.
  9. Choose Help > About and verify that the service update has been applied. You should see "(SU1)" after the version number in the About box.

Some customers are in environments where they are unable to download extensions and updates via the Check for Updates wizard. In this case, visit http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/101/update/center.xml and click the download link for JDeveloper Service Update 1. After downloading the file, choose Help > Check for Updates, and specify Install from Local File, providing the path to the downloaded jdev1013_sr.zip file. Click Finish and continue with the same steps as listed above starting from Step 5.

Deinstallation

There is no automated way to de-install the Service Update. If deinstallation is required, you will need to download JDeveloper and extract the JAR files from the JDeveloper download to overwrite the JAR files in your JDeveloper installation. The JAR files you need to replace can be determined by examining the contents of the service update bundle, which can be found after installation in <JDEV_INSTALL>\jdev\tmp\update\jdev1013_sr.zip.
