JDeveloper 10.1.3.0.4: Service Update 3

JDeveloper Service Update

Title: JDeveloper Service Update 3

Release Date: May 19, 2006

Build Number: 10.1.3.3716 (internal use only)

Description

This is the third Service Update (SU3) for JDeveloper 10.1.3.0.4. It fixes some commonly-encountered critical issues. We recommend that all customers apply this Service Update.

Installation

This Service Update requires that Service Update 1 (and optionally, Service Update 2) has been installed. Please ensure JDeveloper Service Update 1 is already installed before installing Service Update 3. To verify whether Service Update 1 is installed, choose Help > About from the JDeveloper menu. You should see 10.1.3.0.4 (SU1) or 10.1.3.0.4 (SU2) as the version number. If (SUn) is not present in this box, it means Service Update 1 has not been installed. Please follow the instructions to install Service Update 1 before proceeding to install Service Update 3.

To install JDeveloper Service Update 3:

  1. Choose Help > Check for Updates in JDeveloper.
  2. Select the Official Oracle Extensions and Updates update center and click Next.
  3. Select the JDeveloper Service Update 3 and click Next.
    • Note: Service Update 3 will not appear if Service Update 1 is not yet installed. In this case, please install Service Update 1 first.
  4. After the download completes, click Finish.
  5. You will be prompted to restart JDeveloper. Click Yes.
  6. During restart click Yes to confirm overwriting each updated file.
  7. Click No when prompted whether to perform a migration from a previous installation.
  8. Choose Help > About and verify that the service update has been applied. You should see "(SU3)" after the version number in the About box.

Some customers are in environments where they are unable to download extensions and updates via the Check for Updates wizard. In this case, visit http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/101/update/center.xml and click the download link for JDeveloper Service Update 3. After downloading the file, choose Help > Check for Updates, and specify Install from Local File, providing the path to the downloaded jdev1013_su3.zip file. Click Finish and continue with the same steps as listed above starting from Step 5.

Deinstallation

There is no automated way to de-install the Service Update. In the unlikely event that deinstallation is required, you will need to download JDeveloper and extract the JAR files from the JDeveloper download to overwrite the JAR files in your JDeveloper installation. The JAR files you need to replace can be determined by examining the contents of the service update bundle, which can be found after installation in <JDEV_INSTALL>\jdev\tmp\update\jdev1013_su3.zip.
