ADF Toy Store "JSF Edition" (Early Access)

ADF Toy Store "JSF Edition" (Early Access)

Date: January 29, 2006

The ADF Toy Store Demo is a complete sample application built using Oracle ADF. The 10.1.2 production version of this demo was built using:

  • Oracle ADF Business Components for the Model
  • Oracle ADF UIX and JSP/JSTL for the View
  • Struts for the Controller
  • Oracle ADF Model for the Data Binding

An early access version of the "JSF Edition" of the demo is available now. The steps to obtain, install, and run the demo are available below.

NOTE:

This early access release (Build 20) has not been fully documented or commented yet. A future early access release will provide fully commented code and an updated version of the ADF Toy Store whitepaper.

Basic Demo Setup Steps

  1. Download JDeveloper 10g Release 3 (10.1.3) Production

If you don't already have JDeveloper 10g Release 3 (10.1.3) production, download it from here. This demo does not work with the Early Access Release of JDeveloper 10.1.3.

  2. Download the ADF Toy Store "JSF Edition"

You can download the latest early access build of the ADF Toy Store "JSF Edition" from here.

  3. Extract the Demo Zip File

Extract the demo zip file. It will create an ./ADFToyStoreJSF directory, and a number of subdirectories.

  4. Install JUnit Support

Make sure you've used the Help | Check for Updates... in JDeveloper 10g Release 3 to install JUnit support. The unit tests in the sample application depend on it.

  5. Follow Database Setup from 10.1.2 Version

The database setup steps for the demo are identical to the existing 10.1.2 version.

  6. Run the ToyStoreViewController Project

Select the ToyStoreViewController project and pick Run from the right-mouse menu to launch the demo on the embedded OC4J server in JDeveloper 10g.
