DAS: Creating
Groups In this section we show you how to create new groups and how to delegate administrators and users to these groups. PREREQUISITES OID 10g AS infrastructure must be installed The OID server must be running The SSO and DAS servers must be running
In a browser, navigate to the DAS login page. This page will probably be the default Web server host name and port number followed by /oiddas Example: http://ecultra2.us.oracle.com:7777/oiddas
Click on the "Login" link in the upper right corner of this page. Now login to DAS as a user that has administrative privileges over the groups in OID. Typically this will be the user "orcladmin".
Once you successfully login to DAS, select the "Directory" tab and then select the "Group" sub tab.
Now select the "Create" button to begin creating a new group. In the group creation form give your new group a name, a display name, and a description. In the "Group Visibility" section select whether you want your group to be "Public" or "Private" by selecting the appropriate check box. Check the box "Make this group privileged" if you desire to make the group privileged.
In the "Owners" section add more administrative users to this group if you so desire by clicking the "Add User" button. The users you add to this section will be able to add or delete users from the group. In the "Members" section add members to your group by clicking the "Add User" button. In the Role Assignment section click on the check box for any additional Roles/Privileges you wish to assign to the group.
Click on the "Submit" button to complete the group creation. Back at the main "Group" sub tab you can search for your new group and modify it further if you wish. You can login to DAS as any of the administrators of this group and and add or delete members and privileges.
