Getting started with Oracle Certificate Authority

The Oracle 10g Application Server now comes bundled with Oracle Certificate Authority. Oracle Certificate Authority is a full service CA that provides a higher level of certificate based security for your client and server applications.

Important Note:

OCA must be installed during the Oracle Identity Management Infrastructure installation. During installation of the Infrastructure you would need to check the box for Oracle Certificate Authority installation. If you did not check this box during the installation of your Infrastructure, OCA will not be available for you to use. Also, it is currently not possible to install OCA after installing your Infrastructure in the 10g AS 9.0.4 version. This will be possible in the next version of 10g AS.

This collateral is designed to be a quick study of OCA that will get you familiar with the basics so you can perform a simple proof of concept. It is highly recommended that you study the OCA administrators guide to learn more about best practices for deploying Oracle Certificate Authority.

In this section we will show you how to configure OCA so you can begin managing certificates for both your client and server application.
